I am a physician, and pools contain chlorine which kill the coronavirus. Pools are much safer than any business or store because of this. Please open the pools so people can exercise and stay fit to prevent coronavirus infection. Thank you.

Even if the city pools remain closed, the privately operated ones should be allowed to open at 50% capacity.

It is a travesty that pools such as Roland Park--where membership is limited to a ZIP code with almost NO new virus cases, and where the environment is a gated, heavily lifeguarded, large outdoor space--healthier than indoor spaces-- that features a chlorinated pool, is not allowed to open. Baltimore City does NOT need more sedentary individuals, stuck in unhealthy, air-conditioned indoor spaces. Open the pools next week at the latest!

Please let this pool open! Our kids need it for their social, emotional and mental well-being.

Please open pools, ESPECIALLY (or perhaps only for) LAP SWIMMING, which is already designed for social distancing.
If there is a concern about recreational use of pools instead of primarily for fitness, perhaps pools could ONLY allow lap swimming.

I absolutely miss swimming regularly at Meadowbrook.
Time to take back “normal” wherever it’s been determined safe to do so.

Since informed opinion agreed that swimming on chlorine kills virus, it seems safe to reopen pools wit constraints as to # or proportion of swimmers. Locker rooms could remain closed if needed. Many older people use swimming as an essential physical therapy for back, hip, and other problems.

Why is it that liquor and alcohol stores have been open for weeks but socially distanced, lap swimming is not being permitted ?? The chlorine kills the virus, hence, mitigating risk. It would be nice to see policies in place that PROMOTE health and wellness across Baltimore. Large groups, with people very close together can gather in masses in DC, by Baltimore City Hall, and other cities across the country. But socially distanced, 50% capacity lap swimming, which PROMOTES health, is not permitted. Ridiculous ! Seems like many policies in the city actually promote oppression and facilitate negative health patterns. Since it seems like city officials think we're stupid, incapable of making intelligent, safe, decisions. But micromanaging by the city will fix everything.

As I already noted to the Mayor's office in a separate letter, lap swimming is particularly suited to social distancing. Plus, in the "crawl" stroke widely used among lap swimmers, we are face-down in the water while exhaling, and only pull our faces out of the water to *inhale.*
