It is time to open the pools. Covid does not spread through the water. The kids need somewhere to go this summer. And so do the the grown-ups

Please authorize the reopening of the Meadownbrook pool. I have arthritis. Swimming keeps me limber and therefore drug free.

Absolutely no reason to prevent people from using outdoor pools.

As long as we follow the proper distancing and attendance numbers, city pools should be allowed to open.

Per CDC: "There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, or water playgrounds. Additionally, proper operation of these aquatic venues and disinfection of the water (with chlorine or bromine) should inactivate the virus." https://www.cdc.gov/healthywater/swimming/index.html Swimming is a much needed respite for our baltimore city families. Many families have limited or reduced access to air conditioned facilities - for example public libraries, summer school, etc. This is a low cost, safe way to keep Baltimore residents safer and healthier.

Pool exercise is important and being outside is as safe as it gets. With proper precautions in place, there is no reason to prevent people from engaging in this outdoor activity.

Swimming at outdoor pools is less risky than eating at an indoor restaurant or attending a church service. They should be opened ASAP.

While I understand the need for caution, given the sustained decrease in new COVID-19 infections after the state has entered Phase 1 and the lower risk of infection outdoors, the city should allow outdoor swimming pools to open with appropriate guidelines.

Please allow the Mt. Washington Swim Club to open to its members. This is not an exaggeration -- my mental health depends on it.

Open City Pools. This is ridiculous. Governor has gone to stage 2 and City is supposed to be Stage One. Stage one included opening pools.

I am a lifeguard at a pool in the city. We are completely ready to open up in a safe and cautious manner and we are willing and able to comply to any guidelines set by the government to keep everyone safe. Swimming is a great form of exercise that cannot be done unless pools are open.

Based on the fact that there is no evidence that COVID-19 transmits through water activity and pools are safer outdoor spaces, I strongly urge the mayor to reopen pools in the city. Lagging behind our surrounding counties on reopening facilities does not help prevent the spread of COVID. It merely encourages people to travel further and spend their money on businesses outside of the city. It also increases disparities between those who have means to go to the surrounding counties and those who are stuck in the city.

With all the other venues now opening, surely pools can be added to the list.
