Acknowledge the unofficial charter of Benjamin Banneker Academic High School in the District of Columbia, which has been to prepare every student who enters its doors for college through a rigorous four year academic preference program.
The Executive Office of the Mayor: Mayor Adrian Fenty, the District of Columbia Public School Systems:Chancellor M. Rhee, the District of Columbia Board of Education and other entities of influence of the policies governing Benjamin Banneker Academic High School should exempt it from the policy concerning the city-wide unified grading scale set forth in 5 DCMR 2200.7
Acknowledge the 25 years (1981-2006) of academic excellence that serve as proof of this grading system working.
Permit Benjamin Banneker Academic High School to continue implementation of the unofficial charted grading scale so rightly established in 1981.
i remember when this felt like such a long shot but seeing the momentum grow is honestly incredible. keeping our grading scale matters so much for the future of the school and im glad so many people agree.

Banneker has a reputation for a reason. Quit messing with a system that actually produces results. Leave our grading scale alone.
