The baboon monitors that we had previously were doing a good job. It would be a good idea to re-employ them.

Even though my house is surrounded by Trellidoors and burglar bars I have been confronted by a baboon in my home. Not a very pleasant experience to say the least. When this large baboon exited the way he came in I couldn't believe my eyes as he sailed through the burglar bars! What else to do? Live with closed windows and doors too? They have definitely become more aggressive over the past months. Something seriously needs to be done. This is not the way to live in this beautiful place.

If the municipality cannot resolve the "baboon problem", the residents will take matters into their own hands. We have been complaining about this problem for a number of years. We have had extensive damage inside as well as outside of our house in 115 6th Street. This despite having burglar bars Trellidors and keeping doors and windows closed most of the time. Like living in a jail.... baboons around house on daily basis!

My dogs foot was broken when a baboon pushed loose cement bricks over onto the dog as it jumped up against the wall and kicked against the bricks. R6000 in vets bills, a limping dog and 3 months recovery.
Not the baboons fault neither the dogs, but better management would be appreciated.

We can't live behind shutters and bars everyday, worrying that our dogs or, god forbid, our children might be attacked in our gardens. Neither should we have to bear the uninsured cost of repairs to our houses from the damage that baboons cause.
Neither is it good for the baboons to live off human garbage and forget how to forage for themselves in the conservation areas set aside for them.
We, and they, need protection. I am willing to pay the extra charge for wardens, fences, whatever it takes. I hope the Municipality will step up.

The new initiative to control baboon access to residential needs to be extended to cover the length of the berg adjacent to these areas. It has worked in Gordon's Bay, and may be made to work here.

Two adults gained entrance into my kitchen through a closed wrought iron gate, caused havoc and left through same gate. Beware folks. Bars in gates should not be more than 8 cm apart I have learnt.
