I worry that the baboons may injure a child or me pets - they have shown more aggressive tendencies lately.

We can never leave a window or door open unless we are right there as the havoc they cause if they get in is horrendous.....

While I like to see the Baboons in the wild they are now almost becoming urban dwellers in Voelklip, they are seen so often, They have entered my house through closed security gates, causing me to have extra bars welded to all my gates. I have learnt the distance between bars should be no more than 8 cm to prevent them getting through. I have also had large pots and plants turned over and damaged like many other residents. Time now for this problem to be addressed by the Municipality before the situation becomes untenable for both humans and Baboons.

Please please do something I have had a huge male run at me twice in my garden, they have got into my house so many times totally terrorizing my dog and I - thinking of leaving Hermanus, as I can't live like this.

Please, we need monitors. This kind of damage has been going on so long and the baboons are also in danger.

We do not have years for this petition to result into something. We need to do something urgently. The baboon problem is a daily occurrence!

The situation is out of control. We have lost numerous terracotta pots in the garden, had to kill our fig tree and we live in constant fear that our cat will be taken by the baboons. I was nearly attacked by a large male a few weeks ago when I tried to chase him out of the garden. Is a clean audit more important than the safety and security of the people who pay you Overstrand Municipality? Are you going to wait for a child or adult to be attacked before you act? You need to do something and soon.

If not taken care of the baboon problem will soon have a negative impact on the value of property in the mentioned areas.

We are fearing for the lives of our 2 Yorkies. The baboons are the only negative of staying in Hermanus Heights.

If the mountain where the baboons live is part of a nature reserve, then the authority responsible for that area can also help to keep the baboons in this vast terrain.

They even come as far as Voëlklip Beach, stole food from within our home and terrified our housekeeper. The Burgundy Hotel also had to chase them from their premises.

Something needs to be done before more property is damaged or someone gets hurt as baboons are running riot.

Hope a suitable solution will be found - not only for the residents of Voelklip, but also for the baboons!
