There is evidence that Trasacco Estate Development Company Limited in Ghana has set its eye on the estuary area of Ada Foah, namely Kewunor, to create a luxury beach retreat and marina development. The land which this Company claims to have bought has been sold without consultation to the local community or the chief whose jurisdiction includes Kewunor. The people of Kewunor are strongly tied to their land and have no wish or desire to be removed from this area. The legality of this Company’s current claims to the land remains unclear but they are surveying the land without appropriate documentation. This is causing anger and resentment within the community and much distress to people who live here.
