Absolutly out of control. 1000 of houses every year built. No care for residents from Gatineau. I now have to leave at 6am for work and it is now busy then too

I agree! Too much construction equals too many people and not enough roads to support the traffic

We need another bridge connecting Aylmer and Ottawa.

I agree something needs to be done about the increasing traffic to the bridge. Perhaps another bridge?

I agree with everyone...the commute from Aylmer to Ottawa has become an absolute joke. The suggestion of making the HOV lane accessible for vehicles with 2 occupants has been talked about for at least a decade...what is the City waiting for? As well, what the hell are the Gatineau Police doing issuing tickets to drivers in the HOV lanes...these cops are impeding the flow of morning traffic... As much as I curse the cheaters in the HOV lanes they actually speed up the flow of traffic for all of us...

The number of newly constructed housing developments over the past 5-8 years along Lucerne has had a huge and negative impact on the quality of life of Aylmer residents who continue to use Lucerne to commute to the Champlain Bridge for work. More must be done! It is not acceptable to ignore the needs of citizens whose commute times have skyrocketed and will only worsen if steps aren't taken now!

make 3 lanes going downtown on upper aylmer road..cause 2 person lane will not be enough as most cars have single drivers.

Temporary traffic changes is fine regarding the commute into the down town core BUT it is only a temporary solution. Everyone driving south no matter how many roads will only being you so far, and then traffic again. Long term would be a new bridge. There should be one on the west end. It will pull traffic away from current bridges and lesson the wait times on the south. Ottawa and Quebec must work together. My second suggestion is to fund maintenance for bikers in winter seasons. Keep bike lanes clear in mornings, salted or sand etc which will promote bike use all seasons and reduce vehicle use as well.

With New development the traffic is extremely long morning and after school.

Something has to be done about the volume of traffic. The city may want to partner with Ottawa to offer a green pass for commuters to use the bus/carpool lane at a minimal cost.

Please. Something needs to be done. It shouldn’t take 1.5hrs to get somewhere in the morning that is only 25mins away

Reduce the bus lane to 2 passengers. Create a middle bus lane on Lucerne. More parc and rides. Remove the bus lane requirement on Principale returning from Ottawa as there is not enough traffic.

Please do something for that

Most ridiculous thing to have a 3-person car pool in Aylmer while the bridge is 2. If you are with someone else in the car, you are carpooling. The carpool lane is mostly empty whike therr other is backed up for a few KMs.

The current situation is ridiculous. Taking an hour to get from center Aylmer to the bridge should not happen. Coming into a Aylmer does not need two lanes in the morning and needing two lanes leaving Aylmer in the evening doesn’t have to be. They should have three lanes - two for cars and one bus lane heading to Ottawa in the morning and opposite at night. This will help. Lucerne should have been made wide enough to accommodate the bike lanes and a center lane to allow two lanes in the morning and two lanes at night. All the condos and new projects will make Aylmer worse in the years to come. Come on Ville de Gatineau - help your people get to work in the mornings and home on time to spend with their children.
