I am currently organizing the feedback from this petition to draft a formal policy proposal for the relevant parliamentary committees. We are securing meetings with local representatives to present these findings directly to the individuals responsible for legislative review.

The current level of engagement has prompted a formal meeting request with my local representative. I am drafting a brief policy proposal to submit during that discussion.

I definitely agree! People might take someones life by murdering them and only be put in jail for maybe 8 years. They are put in jail for a few years then are let out, having not learnt their lesson, while the other person is gone forever and out of everyone's lives for good. We need a harsher justice system!
They get it easy. They live a better life in prison than some Australian people in nursing homes.

Seems to small a time in jail and the punishments are not over that effective
Yes, people who are murderers shouldn't be allowed to walk the streets after a year of jail!!

Yes, murderers should have FULL LIFE SENTENCES and NOT be eligible for parole!!! There should be harsher punishments for other crimes so as to reduce the crime rate.
I definitely agree! People might take someones life by murdering them and only be put in jail for maybe 8 years.
