There is already enough abandoned animals in Australia. Increasing the cost to take pets home will make it harder for people to bring their beloved pets back home. This will increase the number of abandoned animals in Australia.

I feel this increase is unfair and it's added financial pressure on the overall move to Australia. As the dogs have been with us for over 10 yrs and would be hard to leave behind.i feel this is a form of emotional blackmail.

WE haves imported a great number of dogs in severaal breeds ovcer many years, this rise in costs is outrageous. As many people say, reducing the time spent in quarantine to ten days (from up to three months for some of ours has made it possible for valuable lines to be brought in, but now these proposed costs once again greatly disadvantage people from doing so)

Show me the rationale behind such an outrageous fee. What will become of the family dogs and cats if the owner is not in the financial position to do so.

This is a ridiculous amount of money to charge, having brought 3 dogs from the uk in the last 18 months it even dearer than when they had a 30 day stay

Why so much of a price hike? Seems a ludicrous amount

Why are teh costs goign up so much, i have imported 3 dogs, each stayed the 30 days as the old rules stated, and the cost was high then, now it makes it even harder for people to bring their pets with them when they move country, is the food better, do they each have a personal chef, and a mansion to live in while staying the 30 days, do they have a personal call button for their buttler and 24 hour care and service??

To increase fees to this much, is outrageous! I don't mind paying around $50 per day but 149 is a joke! U will get more importing dog/cats if u keep your fees down! We should be able to see our dogs and groom them for no extra charge! Especially if they have long coats and they are show dogs!

Totally agree, far too excessive in their fee structure, sounds like a money making grab at peoples and their loved animals expense

And how do we judge the level of service when we are not allowed to see our animal for their entire stay?? Would the minister or the head of department hand over that amount of money and not see what they are getting for it? Lucky I have faith in the Melbourne quarantine staff.

Please reconsider, as this is just way too expensive.
