Australia Quarantine Fees

I have been working with so many people to try and make bringing my cat home with me a possibility and reality. I urge you to reconsider the impact this has on us and the separation of our beloved pets for those of us that can not afford this. I have been volunteering in Cambodia for 3 years and finally thought I could bring my baby home with me. Please, don't separate me from my cat.

Please dont do this. Very unfair and you will find more pets needing rehoming due to the cost.

This is Utterly disgusting, People should be able to travel with their animals and the government is penalising them, Not to mention that its all well and good dropping quarentine time but the fees have gone up making it that they will still be making the same amount of money..... how is this fair??? This should not go ahead

Its outrageous. We have booked and paid and have confirmation from AQIS for out two dogs to arrive on the 31st July. Surely you cant just increase the fees by this huge amount for confirmed bookings without consultation and more warning. It is costly enough already with all the pre-flight things we have to do to prepare our dogs to bring into Australia and now you want more money for their quarantine stay. Its not justifiable. What shame Australia you really need to re-consider this increase you are making it extremely difficult and costly for us pet owners who consider our furry friends as family. Its just greed.

For someone who in 2007 who brought 1 dog and 2 cats in from the uk and paid for the 30day stay and flights etc. I understand the cost. But we paid. I ask the question. Please do not increase the fees because this will stop me from bringing my pets with us to australia. I would reconsider my move

Although we brought our three animals out when it was 30 days, bringing the fees to this level is an attempt to stop people from bringing their pets to Australia. It is an amazing amount of money and makes it almost equal to what it was per animal when they stayed 30 days.

Such good news that the quarantine stay was reduced from 30 days to 10 days when importing from North America but then too increase the overnight stay to AUD149.00 per night seems incredibly underhanded. As a returning Australian I feel like I am being gauged for a service that should not cost this much. Very disappointing and makes me physically ill thinking about the cost I am now up against and thinking of those many families that will be simply forced to relocate without their valued family members.

This increase is dramatic and unreasonable. Migrants and returning Australians are being asked to cover too much of this cost.

I think this is a huge joke. To up the prices without more notice that a few months. We have a dog scheduled for arrival July 08, 2014 and it will triple our costs. They should honor any current bookings at the quoted price rather than put the screws to us. Typical Australia Gov't move. Make it impossible for people to afford to live and then they wonder why so many people rely on the Assistance system. They really need to get a grip on things. If they were to pull this stunt off. I would really be disgusted.

My dogs are my family. I've already paid excessively in the US getting them prepared for your country. Increasing your fees will make it impossible to continue. These new fees are extreme. Please keep them affordable!!
