They will be asking you to adopt a dingo next, bet that will be free though, how can try justify this increase

if these dogs have had relavant rabies and vaccinations why such a long quarantine seems unfair to the dog and the owners

I am bringing my dog to Perth in January 2015, & I feel utterly frustrated & exhausted with all the forms etc that have to be completed. I have paid $485 for the import permit, £1600 to Petair & dread getting the vet bill.

I can't bring my dog because mum and dad can't afford it, I don't want to live in Australia without him.

Thee are a lot of heartbroken people out there. This is just a money making scheme because the quarantine duration has been dropped

This seems to be a huge amount of money on top of an already costly process. Please re-think.

We were fortunate enough to arrive in Australia with our pet before this cost increase was suggested. It is incredibly unfair to reduce the number of days quarantine and then increase the cost by such a degree. Please don't do this, I can't imagine having to leave your pet behind because of unfair pricing like this.

It just seems like a way to make the same amount of money from a shorter stay.

A five-fold increase is extremely unfair. It will potentially separate beloved family pets from their owners, which will in turn cause suffering for all involved. More pets will have to be left in shelters, who already have more work than they can cope with. A heartbreaking decision.

A five-fold increase in these fees is too much. It will separate beloved family pets from their owners and will lead to more pets having to be left in dog and cat shelters. Heartbreaking.

The fees should equate to the care given to our pets and this clearly is not the case. This is daylight robbery.

Australia Quarantine Fees have to be cancelled. Not fair to pay so high price for this strange service.
Good luck
