This is just ridiculous. A pet is part of the family. It is already a traumatic time knowing your pet isn't with you. Why make it even harder.

Upping the cost will just make people have to eutanise their beloved pets from lack of funds to pay the higher fee. That's a terrible thing for them.

Unbelievable! But also not surprising of the Australian government!! Trying to squeeze the most out of people!!

This would be so horribly unfair. Please don't allow this outrageous change.

In no other scenario or business case would a 300% increase in fees be acceptable. This is capitalising on owners' love for their pets forcing them to possibly make heartbreaking decisions as to whether to bring them into Australia.
This has gone up a big amount. We are already paying for vets fees, and making sure we have all the correct vaccinations and everything correct to get our pet across. We are already paying more then my partners visa already! How can a animal cost more then a human?

If increasing the fee is to recoup the loss on reducing the number of days in quarantine - then that's plain greedy!

We left our 2 dashchunds behind in South Africa in 2009. Australia does not want any dogs. Bottom line!!!!

We have 3 cats booked to travel to Adelaide in August which is expensive enough as it is. We pay and carry out all medical stuff thus all the quarantine service is really is an expansive cattery!!

The reduced coat will mean more pets dumped in shelters. If we love them enough to bring them, please don't penalise us with exorbitant costs!

This is totally an unjustifiable increase - if you are thinking of increasing the figures then at least give people more than 3 months warning - people have costs involved in moving across the other side of the world and increasing these fees by this amount is totally unfair

Totally unreasonable we are wanting to take our cat - its good the quarantine time has reduced but the rabies timeframe makes 220 days a long time if you suddenly get offered a job - they don't expect you to wait for 220 days - only then to inflate the cost of quarantine to a ridiculous amount is unjustified makes the whole move unattractive!!!!!!!

Please leave it as it is, not everyone can afford $149/per pet per day that's ridiculous!
