The governor has updated the mandate to allow our private schools to resume in-person instruction. We have confirmed that Trinity will proceed with on-campus learning. We will remain in contact with the administration to ensure no further disruptions impact the classroom environment.

On Wednesday, November 18, Governor Andy Beshear mandated that ALL private schools cease in-person instruction beginning November 23. Middle and high schools are mandated to remain in remote instruction until January 4, 2021 while elementary schools may reopen for in-person learning on December 7 IF their county is NOT in the red zone and the school follows the in-person guidelines.
However, Attorney General Daniel Cameron issued an opinion (August 19, 2020) that the governor (or any state official) is prohibited by law from closing religious schools that comply with COVID guidelines (Trinity has well complied with the guidelines). Further, it is a violation of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution for the governor to issue such a mandate targeting religious institutions.
The following parents fully support Trinity continuing IN-PERSON learning. The Trinity leadership has spent many hours and many dollars following CDC recommendations, state guidelines and local health department guidance in order to open and remain open for in-person learning. Our leadership has done an excellent job implementing said guidelines and our students have safely learned at school. We are grateful for our Trinity teachers and administration's hard work and dedication to ensuring that we can continue in-person learning.
We, the parents, remain confident in Trinity's ability to continue our children's excellent education in person. While we understand that our Board of Directors will make the final decision regarding this issue, it is our sincere request that Trinity's leadership consider the desire of these parents for our children to continue learning IN PERSON. Please hear our voices. Our children's education is at stake, and without a doubt, our children learn most successfully at school.
Together we stand on the firm foundation of God's Word for the next generation.

Signing as a parent AND a teacher! ALL of these children need to be in person!! Lord, make a way where there seems to be no way!
This will allow for easier learning, thus leading to maintained grades and GPA and maintained college opportunities. Otherwise grades will go down, lack of motivation will arise, and colleges will see the struggles and deny students that would have been stellar in person and gotten accepted.
You have my vote, so they are saying younger kids should stay in school and the older kids should not. How does that even make sense??!! Their facts are not adding up. -John Hingst 7th Grade
I am a grandparent of a Trinity student. It is my firm belief that children and young people need the structure and presence of their teachers to excell in the learning process. Lockdowns undermine social, emotional and mental health and produce levels of stress that compromise the immune system. We cannot allow it!
I do not agree with capitulating to the mandate. To do so is to say that the threat of this virus is greater than the adverse effects of children learning on a computer screen, and omitting the healthy effects of the fellowship they get from their teachers and peers. The threat is not greater, the kids need to be in school.
Let the kids stay in school!
Our schools are not the problem. There are so few cases in schools that shutting down elementary education just doesn’t make sense. For the working parents it’s an impossible situation.

Our children have the right to be in person and not secluded at home in front of a computer. They need to be with their friends and the wonderful teachers at Trinity. It’s what is best for them mentally and socially. Trinity is following all the guidelines that have been issued and are doing a fantastic job.
