I am an Athens ISD resident who is appalled by the fiscal irresponsibility being shown by ISD School Board’s decision to fund a $ 4,000,000 plus press box. I can only imagine the types of student and teacher based programs this amount of money could fund. Please tell me that the board does not believe a press box is the number one funding requirement for Athens ISD. PLEASE RECONSIDER your decision.

$4,000,000 for a press box is outrageous and completely unnecessary. Please do not waste our money on such a vain purchase. Please use it to improve our children’s educations.

This is ridiculous. The money could be spent on much better things like materials/furniture for the students or teacher pay.

The press box should not cost very much. More money needs to go toward teaching the students trades and how to balance a check book and live. The teachers, aides, etc. need more money and smaller class rooms. The board does not deserve luxury.

Athens Resident- Waste of Funds . This Does Not Improve our Students education in any way. All of the Residents of Athens deserve the right to know what other issues exist in our schools and have a vote to decide where those funds are spent.
