Proud of our community for letting the AISD board know their opinions on this vote. This is how we hold elected officials accountable.

Money that could be spent on other things like new uniforms for the boys AND GIRLS middle school sports teams, a track for middle school, lockers for ALL AISD kids, a COMPLETE over haul of the AHS theater, more education opportunities for our kids, and such. Get it AISD board...we can totally see right through the BS your trying to pull. That money can and should be spent elsewhere on our campuses. Just look around.

I feel that as a tax payer we should have a say in the way our tax dollars are spent. At this time I don’t see the need for such an expensive press box.

Use the money in education. That’s what we send our kids for

As a student that went to highschool and a member of the athens community I believe that using money towards the press box would in no way benefit the school. Money should be saved and put towards something educational not making our athletics look better. The field, and field house was enough. With our record so far we don’t deserve a new addition to athletics however, education has taken a back seat and should be adressed. The money isn’t something to waste, therefore use it for educational purposes not stupid athletic accessories.

Something I can get behind. 4 million dollars for a football team that can’t make it past round 2 of playoffs? A joke.

There are other needs in this school district that need attention not just football.

It's the least you could do to rectify this absolute embarrassment of a decision.

Does a new press box help get people out of the cycle of poverty in our community? How about early childhood intervention. STEM programs that reward our future with higher wages. That this is even a consideration is very telling about this board, or certain individuals on the board. The community will be watching how the vote goes.

What a waste of money that could be spent on better things for students and teachers.

This is outrageous they need to speend that money more wisely

I am an Athens resident and the meer though of spending $4 Million on a press box is preposterous. There are so many other more pressing needs in our community. Focus on what is important.

Athens ISD Resident Upgrade the track or put that money towards the baseball and softball fields.
