Athens ISD Board of Trustees - Reconsider and Vote Down the $4,000,000 Press Box

Athens ISD resident, taxpayer, and former Athens ISD graduate. There are many improvements that can be made throughout Athens ISD that would substantially increase the outlook and education of our district that, in return, would gain student population. We all have seen the plunge of student interest in AISD over the past few years and a $4M press box is NOT something that will fix that! That amount of money for a press box in ATHENS is ludicrous and irresponsible, to say the least! A parent of 3 potential AISD students.

Athens ISD Community member. It would be ideal to utilize part if the funds to implement a community resource/recreational facility or program similar to The Boys/Girls Club.

Please reconsider this choice. These funds could be used in ways that directly improve our students' educational experiences!

This new press box is a waste of our money and pointless the one we have is fine we need a new track or something more relevant

I respectfully request this expenditure be voted down. I find it to be excessive and beyond what is needed in a press box in a town the size of Athens. I believe a compromise is in order considering the response of the public to the announcement of a 4.2 million dollar press box at Bruce Field. Those dollars come from hard working people who vote you all in, expecting you to make responsible fiscal decisions. A 4.2 million press box for a sport is not going to further the education of our future generations nor prepare them for real life, therefore it hardly seems to be a responsible use of these tax dollars. Thank you.

There HAS to be another less expensive way to build a good press box!!

Please reconsider the vote on the press box. If it continues there are many citizens that are not going to happy about this decision. Why can't we have up-to-date electives for students who make up the majority of our students. Thanks

Please do what is necessary to stop students from leaving AISD and do what will actually keep students, and bring new students by putting your focus on academics. Not a single parent will walk on to that field, point up to a 4 million dollar "press box" and say " That is what makes me want my child in AISD" .
