Impose more penalties on the people who poses guns ILLEGALLY rather than on the law abiding citizens who legally own guns. How many gun related crimes are committed with legally owned guns vs people who are in possession of a gun illegally?
New York State under this current Governor is intentionally and incrementally eroding a fundamental Constitutional right. His full on gun control agenda is being rammed through the process with no public hearings and little debate. This is not how representative government is supposed to work.
Thank you Assemblyman Walczyk for fighting for our 2nd Amendment rights. The SAFE Act was pushed through promising to solve our gun "problems" in NYS. If that was supposed to be so effective, why do we need more laws?
Criminals don't obey laws, why not enforce the laws we have and crush criminals. Cuomo has armed security that we pay for, while he wants those who cannot afford security forces to go without the ability to protect themselves and their families.
I don't currently own a firearm. But the right to bear arms is my right to do so if I so choose. NYS shall NOT infringe on that right just because some are ignorant about firearms. Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
Every gun owner, sportsman, pistol permit holder - get off your a** and start calling and writing your law makers. Start at the local level and go right up the line! Keep doing it, don't stop! Boycott businesses that are anti-gun rights, hit them in the pocketbook where it hurts! See me on facebook Creekside Firearms.
Every citizen has the right to protect them selves against anything including tyranny. I'll bet the Venezuelan citizens wish they could bare arms.

I spent 25 years as a NYS Trooper. I can tell you from 1st hand experience that the "Safe Act" and any further "feel good" laws do absolutely nothing to stem crime, they simply punish those that abide by the law.
