Ashburn Square Parking Guidelines

Our family has sent a member to several of the HOA meetings. The meetings are the board members discussing amongst themselves until the very end where "if" there is time, the owners get to speak. I can ensure you had we been provided an agenda via mail advising us what was going to be decided at the meeting we would have either been there or stayed through the entire meeting. It is a bit much to expect people to sit over an hour to maybe get to provide feedback on something being decided at the meeting. Out of respect for the owners who pay $240 per month, there should be an agenda mailed out before each meeting. As far as rules about parking, show me where it says in those initial rules that owners who pay $240 /month to live in Ashburn will be towed if they park in guest parking, which in essence we have paid for with our monthly fees. Do you really think that when people are looking for a good family friendly place to buy a home, the first thing on their mind is to look at the parking rules? Regardless of what the builders did or did not have in mind when they built these townhomes, which are now our homes, this is now a family community. So, the board and the community need to work together to make it a community rather than blaming the things that the board either cannot fix or intends to enforce on prior board members and prior management. Enforcing a bad rule does not qualify for fixing any thing when it just creates a bigger issue for the actual owners. The board needs to keep on looking for a solution to fix the parking problem rather than trying to appear as if they are doing some thing by enforcing a bad rule. Regardless, the community is entitled to call a special meeting and at this point there should be a special meeting called.

Are you all serious?! Where were you all during the HOA meetings where there were not even enough people to show up to even have a quorum? Where were you all when it was time to vote for a new board?? Where were you all in November when the parking enforcement was discussed? If you had attended any meetings, then you would know that it is not possible to just "add more parking spots". The rules of this neighborhood have existed for several years now (before this current board), and now there is an uproar because someone is finally deciding to fully enforce these rules that you all knew about when you moved in!!

The new parking guidelines for the neighborhood are unrealistic.

The new parking guidelines for the neighborhood are unrealistic. I really hope the neighborhood joins together to fix this issue.

The board needs to leave the residents of the neighborhood alone and stop with the rules. Address the parking issue of the neighborhood by building a bigger parking area.

Well said!

What I don't understand is why can't people who live here park on the street at night as well? Then there would be plenty of parking for guests. These places have 3 bedrooms so each place should have 3 parks.

These rules are unnecessarily harsh. The association should be making the living experience at Ashburn more family friendly. Instead these rules tend to drive people away. Instead of limiting the number of cars, we should be looking at creating more parking spaces.

Something needs to be done to resolve this issue. Family members cannot come and visit our community. This is sad.

I'm a very unhappy resident of this community. My daughter can't even visit me because there is no place to park.

Brian, please make sure you include your last name on the signature part of this petition or your vote won't count. That would be a shame because you have some excellent points!

Thank you Brandon! I don't think I could've expressed it any better.

As soon as we get 1/4 legitimate signatures, the meeting will be scheduled!!!!! Don't worry, we will let everyone know when the meeting is. The more people who can attend, the better!

When is the meeting?

Everyone...please make sure you are signing with your first and last name! Or it won't count! Also, you have to be a homeowner for your vote to count. If you are a renter, e-mail this link to your owner and encourage them to sign it!!!!!! Also, if you are married and both names are on the mortgage, both husband and wife sign. We need 1/4 of the homeowners' signatures to get the special meeting so we can hold these board members accountable for speaking on our behalf without getting our opinions first.

Thank you for this! We really need to unite for our rights to live in a secure yet fair neighborhood.

Leave the parking alone. This is our community not yours. Tell us why there is not parking on the street from midnight to 6 am but all other times it is acceptable. There is not reason and we suspect the HOA gets a cut of the towing fees.

Does the HOA and board of directors think that in a community with 3 bedroom housing there would only be 1 or 2 licensed drivers living there? I have 3 and I have 3 registered vehicles. We pay exorbitant HOA fees to maintain our property yet the HOA and BOD want to cripple our ability to own more than 1 or 2 vehicles. why would anyone want to live in a community where they are inconvenienced on a daily basis?

These new restrictions do not reflect the will of the majority of residents.

The HOA appears to make decisions without any input to the owners in the community as well as raising the HOA dues every year. Those of us who have more than 2 vehicles and those whose vehicle won't fit in their garage as our 2nd "parking spot" can not function with these new rules in place. Also, how about making more parking spots? There is plenty of room between some units (and the old dumpster slabs). Use our dues to better the community, not hinder it.
