This petition supports the aims of ASDA - the UK's best value supermarket - in opening a new store in Elland, between Dewsbury Road & Huddersfield Road. The signatories firmly believe that the new store proposed by ASDA is the best location in Elland for a new store, in having the potential to encourage local shoppers to STAY local, whilst creating up to 200 new jobs within the local community. Elland benefitting from a new, high quality food shopping attraction is long overdue and it is crucial that the most appropriate location, and the most appropriate operator, is chosen. This decision can be the key to significantly boosting Elland's economy in the long term.
