Current first and second year students of ARU receive £100 a year thanks to the Book Plus scheme. Students starting in 2014 will now receive £400 a year due to the increase of student fees. While this seems fair, current students have had an increase of £8300 to £8549. It appears that this has happened due to The increase of inflation (3%) which the students union has ignored. It has also been secretly added on to our student finance letters without this being communicated to us properly. In addition, our fees are still being advertised as £8300 on the SU website under the Book plus section (and then under 'not eligible for bursary') . Another important factor to note is that ARU said any changes to fees will be given to us in writing. No such letter has arrived.
