not fair. there are loads of books I need to buy for courses, but can't cos no money. always thought 100£ wasn't much, especially when some key txtbooks can cost 100+... I pay these insanely high fees for what...? 100£ is all i get as a bonus from uni. thats it. Stinginess.

seriously unfair. struggling to join clubs or get materials while paying thousands a year. need to be treated fairly.

the price of books is mental. 100 quid doesnt go anywhere when one textbook is nearly that much. sort it out ARU

REALLY ANNOYING. we pay the same tuition but get treated like second class students compared to the new intake. absolute joke.

never even got a letter about the fee increase. they just changed it and hoped no one would notice. typical

its so frustrating having to pay more and getting nothing extra for it. how can they just hide the fee hike like that?

To the person who created this petition, I forwarded this link on facebook to our student union facebook page asking if they were supporting. This answer was given: Anglia Ruskin Students' Union In response to your feedback, comments and petitions about the change to Books Plus and university fees, the Students’ Union has formed a plan to get answers to your questions, to deepen the understanding of the reasons behind the bursary changes, and to ensure all decisions like this in the future are made in conjunction with students. Immediately we will; Take your feedback, petitions, Facebook messages and emails directly to the Vice Chancellor and discuss this issue with him. We will feedback the outcomes of these discussions to you. Provide more information to any student that wishes to access it. E-mail me: [email protected] if you would like to meet and talk through all the changes or raise further queries or questions regarding the bursaries or fee changes. I’ll then take this to the University Vice Chancellor, to get answers for you. Find out how ARU communicated the 3% fee increase to 2012 and 2013 starters and report back to you. We will also make sure communication is better next year for the 2013 starters who will be moving into their final year. Be part of all further Access Agreement working groups, making sure that students get money in their pockets instead of fee waivers in any future changes. We understand, as past students ourselves, that you feel you have been unfairly treated, and while we recognise the decisions made as necessary (as explained in our full statement) we are here to support students and get more answers. Email me with any questions, and I will endeavour to answer them on [email protected]. A full statement will be on our website shortly In solidarity, Daryl.

Okay, they want to help future students... But what about us?
