I am truly glad for this petition. I believe it is truly detrimental to let people know our feelings about the upcoming Artemis Fowl movie. As an AF fan, I was enraged to see that a beloved book series of mine was being made into a totally different idea. I sincerely hope that others can be alerted of this petition and take action. #notmyAF

I agree 100% with what is being said here! Hopefully we can show them that a lot of fans do not agree with their casting choices!

This series has inspired me beyond compare and pulled me out of very dark places. The casting decisions are vastly different from the books and as stated by many others there are problems with the people cast. I'm sure they're all amazing actors but they just aren't right for this particular series in the roles they've been given.

Make the cast true to the story! The movie is being made for the fans of the book, so make it true to what we all fell in love with!

We have waited so long, and now disney does this to us. I loved Butler's backstory and Holly as a character, and neither works like this

This series was my childhood. Don't ruin it.

How dare they make Holly a child. Just find a little-person actor!

Casting a white girl as Holly infantalizes her character and takes away an excellent opportunity for a black actress to shine in this role. Casting Commander Root as a woman negates a large part of Holly's character development in the books, and I would rather see Judi Dench play Vinyaya.

The character of Holly Short was so important to me as a kid, and the casting of this movie removes both 1) her status as the first female LEPrecon agent, an inspiring figure to look up to, and 2) her darker skin, which is an important trait to give young brown girls fictional heroines who look like them, and to make white girls like me realize that not every heroine is going to be white and to expand our ideas of normalcy past the racist limits we were often raised with. Please, please follow the general guidelines set by the books. There was so much meaning to every character that can be erased by casting the wrong people.

They removed Holly being the 1st female LEPrecon officer... literally threw away the female role model breaking the gender barrier

There's no way to be in any way faithful to the characters with the current cast

Did they run any of these decisions through anyone whose read the books before and enjoyed them?

I'm mostly here for Holly, tbh. She was my favorite character growing up, and remains one of my favorites now. Seeing such dramatic changes being made to such a brilliant character does not bode well for the quality of the movie. The books are amazing, and definitely deserve a more faithful adaptation.

I'm signing this because these concerns are entirely understandable and fair. While some minor deviation from plot is understandable, the concerns brought to my attention with this and other sources show a completely different narrative then what is represented in the source materials. Proper representation is paramount to the media of this series.

With such casting, I think the original story would be completely lost.
