Arriva Rail Northern do not allow any mobility scooters on their trains unlike other rail companies. People can buy scooters with dimensions in line with UK transport. Arriva Rail Northern ignore this and still refuse scooters even though they have been made with correct measurements to access UK transport. They should change their policy on this as we are working to Access for all but it feels that with Arriva we are going backwards not forwards. To people like me who use these mobility scooters we feel discriminated against. LETS GET ARRIVA RAIL NORHERN TO CHANGE THEIR SCOOTER POLICY.

They should sort this stupid rule out, Fair access for all , Doesn't this go against the disability discrimination act, Good luck in getting the silly ruling changed,

I assumed this sort of thing had been sorted. Really outrageous in this day and age to find a lack of disability access.

This is highly discriminatory and a rediculous scenario anyone at any time can find themselves dependant upon a wheelchair or a scooter. Trains are here to serve the public disabled or not WE are your paying public!

Absolute disgrace. The company should be ashamed of itself for its blatant disrespect and discriminatory practice towards people who are wheelchair bound...

It affects a friend of mine who cannot access other mainline trains because of this ridiculous policy

This is from a friend in Bingley, “Northern now allow scooters on at Skipton, Ilkley, Leeds and Bradford Foster Square electric trains only. Some small progress but no good for my local station. There reasoning makes no sense at all and I have taken this up locally.“ Northern are reducing the chances of earning some purple pounds from disabled people. They should not be allowed to discriminate, especially when the scooters are bought to fit in with the national requirements.
