In reference to the New Healthcare Amendment Act, I find it important to make our voices heard as the majority of us as Physicians do not agree with the proposed actions. I believe that signing this petition will give an accurate representation of our stand to forego the Healthcare Amendment Act at this particular time.

The feedback from colleagues has been overwhelming and confirms that this burden is felt across every ward. We are working behind the scenes to ensure our concerns reach the right people despite the ongoing resistance from the commission.

I completely disagree with the proposed changes and feel it is critical all doctors and dentists are consulted before any legislation is approved.
I agree we need improved regulation of the healthcare provision in Bermuda but do not agree with this amendment in its current form.
I think this is a very poor act. I do not think that a politically appointed Quango is the body that should be vested with this authority and power. Health care reform is needed and regulation included as part of the bigger picture.
We have all witnessed patient suffering or escalating cost of health care when Government interviens in Health care. As the motives may have been well intentioned, the outcomes are far less than favorable towards patient care. In its current form I am not in favor of the new health care act.
I am absolutely not in favour of this amendment. The physicians have spoken as a group and they are not being heard. As doctors, we know what is best for patients. This is a dangerous amendment.

Poorly crafted legislation that will increase healthcare costs without improving the delivery of care. KEMH accounts for 43% of all healthcare expenditure . Let's start there. Why not impose a moratorium on any new facilities until we can fairly work out an acceptable regulatory framework .
