Just got back from 2 months in Florida to find father Darrell gone. After first hearing him speak a couple of years ago I decided to come back to the Catholic Church. Not sure what I will do now. St. Isaac Jogues will not be the same without him. He is a wonderful priest and such an inspirational speaker. Please bring him back.

Please dont take the priests that are on fire for the Lord. He is a true shepherd. Why take all of the good faithful ones???? My family does not plan to come back if he leaves.

Fr. Roman is a true example of what a priest should be. When father was at Sweetest Heart of Mary he was very much loved.
Our Church preaches mercy and forgiveness but they don't practice what they preach.

Father Darrell is a wonderful pastor. You are making a BIG mistake removing him as pastor. I would venture a guess a lot of parishioners will be leaving SIJ Over this.

Please bring Father Darrel back. He was wonderful. We belong to Our Lady of Hope but came to Mass at St Isaac just to hear his homily. Best priest ever!

To the Archdiocese of Detroit:
What loving kindness and class, not to mention dignity of the human being you have chosen to display in the careless and senseless action to remove Fr. Darrell Roman from SIJ in St. Clair Shores because of so called budgetary challenges. A pastor who inherited a closed Roseville church due financial struggles along with 2 cities, Roseville and St. Clair Shores both populated with low income, Senior Citizens, and Section 8 people. All by the way, are doing the best they can and whom we as Catholics are to be caring for as ambassadors of Jesus Christ.
What in the world has gotten into you? Satan? Too many politicians? The opioid epidemic? Please examine your conscious, consider confession and Atonement and get right with our Lord.

The removal of Father Darrell is a great injustice to the parishioners of SIJ. I am very sad about this but I will believe this must be God’s plan for us.

Father Darrell's departure today was a very sorrowful, somber one. We all love him and will miss him dearly, it is not fair that he is gone, the first time since I've been a child I feel like I found a pair of shoes that is my home. That home is no more. If you do not reinstate father Darrell please at least be courteous and kind enough to email me and let me know where he has been reassigned and when.Thank you.

I don't know the whole reason why the Arch Dioceses of Detroit is removing Fr. Darrel from St. Isaacs Jogues. What I do know is while he was our associate pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Lake Orion Mi. he was Christ centered, very reverent and followed the true faith of the teachings of Christ. He needs to stay .

Thank you Fr Darrell for sharing your love for Our Lord and for your courage to stand for the truth! You are in my thoughts and prayers. “Jesus I Trust in You!” to take care of this wonderful priest and in whatever calling God has planned for him.

Difficult to sign when the facts of the situation are not fully understood...however, Father Darrell has been such a solid, consistent and courageous advocate of the truth that the Gospel represents for me personally and those I know. I pray that all involved with bringing about this situation are prayerfully reflecting and exercising just, pastoral consideration....which include mercy and forgiveness. In His Peace.

Those who have known Fr. Darrell for years and have watched him live out his priestly vocation, know that he always follows Christ, listening to God’s will alone, and helps his flock to do the same each day. There is nothing ( earthly authority, etc) more paramount.
May God bless him abundantly in whatever calling He has ready for him!

I cannot even imagine St Isaacs without Fr Darrell. He has been such an inspiration to our family. He has shown nothing but kindness and caring and his unending love for God. He has taught us to be better Christians and to make frequent uses of the Sacraments. When you look at Fr Darrell you automatically think of Jesus and His Mother because he inspires you to pray more. Please if at all possible do not take him away from us because I truly do not know where we will go.

Fr. Darrell is an asset to SIJ and the Catholic church as a whole. He has brought greatness, passion and faith to SIJ and is respected by many. The fact that the true reason for him leaving not being shared is disgraceful and as a church based on truth this should be shared IF removing him is the final decision. SIJ is a better place with Fr. Darrell there and we would love to see him stay. He is an amazing Priest and SIJ is honored to have him.
