Fr Darrell is by far one of the best priests I’ve come to know in a very long time. He is so passionate about the Church and it’s teachings. Please, don’t take Father from our parish. He doesn’t deserve to be treated like this, he’s being told he must leave and all he did was preach the truth about our faith. Why is that a crime?!?

Don’t let this innocent man go Archbishop.Dont let this happen to our Parish. He’s done nothing wrong to deserve this. And if you really looked deep into this whole matter which has brought this about, youll find he is guilty of one thing. Teaching us to love Christ with our whole heart and mind. For the love of God stop this from happening.

I would like my father to stay at St. Isaac Jogues. If there are issues that you are not pleased with, then the parish (stakeholders) should be contacted, and we should work together to solve the issues, but removing our Father Darrell should NOT be an option. The A of D needs to practice what they preach. If family is important then our family needs to stay in tact.

We meet Father Darrell when he was at Sweetest Heart of Mary Church, and we instantly were moved by his truthful teachings of the word. When he went to St. Isaac Church, we followed him. Even though I have been a practicing Catholic for Forty-six years I have never had such a powerful teacher of God's word as Father Darrell. He inspires his parish. He not only teaches the word, but he helps to interpret it so that it can be applied in our lives. We loved his teaching, and his love for his Polish Heritage so much, that we ended up enrolling our daughters in school at St. Isaac, just so they can have the benefit of his teachings. Yesterday, they were just singing Polish church songs that they would sing in mass for him, as they are part of the school's choir. In forty-six years I have not asked one thing of the A of D. I have written a letter to the Archbishop and called regarding Father Darrell, but I was not even given the courtesy of a conversation with the Archbishop, as they stated he was "too busy." So after 46 years of membership, I have only asked for help this one time, and was turned away? Please do not remove our Father Darrell from our church family. Is has brought so many to his church, and he brought my daughters to Catholic Education. He is powerful, and we NEED his teachings. Please allow the parish that he serves to have a voice.

On behalf of my 90 year old Aunt and a parishioner of SIJ for over 50 years, she is truly devistated by the decision to remove Fr Darrell. While her hearing is not that great, she loves to see him speak. His smile brightens her day and makes her feel good. As for me, he has allowed me to serve God as a Eucharistic Minister even though I am not a registered parishioner at this church. I am a Eucharistic Minister at my church, Christ, Our Light, but he made me feel welcomed and I am honored to serve. And I truly am humbled to serve WITH Him! This Parish is losing their Anchor and I am losing faith in our AOD leadership.

I have been a parishioner at St. Isaac Jogues Church for over 15 years. He has been the Best Pastor we've ever had. He is inspiring to many! My friend who claimed that she was an atheist, is now thinking about becoming Catholic because of Fr. Darrell! We were told that some people have complained about him. However more people Love him. I think it's a big mistake for the Archdiocese to cow tow to the political correctness that our society has created. God's Word is Truth and that is what Fr. Darrell said always! Unfortunately many people don't want to know or deal with the Truth, God's Word. So they get hurt feelings and called you to complain. Please don't let those few people cause the rest of us to lose an Amazing Pastor! Thank you for your time!

Fr Darrell was new to SIJ when I came back to The Holy Mother Church, and by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit thru Fr Darrell has helped me to be an active member of this church and it’s community. I was brought to tears at this news - however upon reflection and prayer I have come to terms within my heart that the Lord has a plan and that we need to have faith that God is doing it right - even if it hurts. On the day Fr Darrell made his announcement he said to me “Michael, Apostles come and apostles go...” have faith. In Christ Amen!

I’m still not over father Tim leaving! Father Darrell is the Only priest besides father Tim that will bring me to that church. I really have a hard time understanding why he shook up the whole place bringing nuns back and then either he’s allowed to leave or has the heart to leave? Should finish what he started. Specially since the curriculum went way down during the bumps of all his changes... The kids are struggling over at Lakeview because algebra was not focused on, father Darrells changes were focused on. Would be a shame to let him go now. Kids needed algebra in 8th not nuns and then To be abandoned by their fearless leader that made it all happen.

I am not a parishoner, so I really don't understand what's going on. However, I can say that Father and I have worked together in the past and I have witnessed nothing but his kindness, his love of the priesthood and his commitment to the people of God.

I dont know why he is leaving, but I so know this much. Before I met Father Darrell, I wanted nothing to do with church. He has helped bring me back to the church and ignite an interest long dormant inside. Please let him stay

I have been a member of the SIJ family my entire life (51+ years). Maybe there is more to the story than any of us are aware, but all I know is that Fr. Darrell is a WONDERFUL pastor! SIJ appears to be financially fine, from the weekly reports in The Torch. I remember when SIJ was in financial turmoil for years, and they never ousted the priest! He delivers God's message every week, with fire for God's word, and he keeps us all coming back for more! Fr. Darrell is the reason my husband started returning to Sunday mass after 40 years of not attending! Please reconsider this, or give us the real reason he is being transferred somewhere else. Many of us are sad and confused about this whole thing. Prayers to all.

I am so done with the Arch Diocese of Detroit. No matter what your official reason is, I won’t believe it after your handling of closing down my last parish. Seems fishy to me that you can’t let a Pastor of his church give his farewell resignation with out your official strong arm Bishop right after he speak, rebut his resignation. Way to show the entire congregation how you work

Please allow Father Darrell to remain at SIJ. He is a good and holy priest. He has brought me closer to God in the past 5 years, than any other priest. Please give the parishioners at SIJ a chance to increase our weekly offering if we are in financial need. Do not take this Good Shepard away from his flock! I’m begging you. Lord hear our prayers!
