Apple have launched the iPhone 6 with great fanfare and introduced their Apple Pay system that uses an NFC chip to access payment terminals. However they have not opened up the full potential of NFC to access other RFID tags embedded in many other devices. Medical alert systems, such as Tap2Tag Medical, use NFC that allows first responders to access a patient's medical records by tapping an NFC enabled Android or Windows phone against the device. The fact that Apple have not permitted this use of the technology could put lives at risk.
Please sign this petition to request that Apple opens up its operating system to enable its devices to access all NFC tags including medical alert devices.
