The zoning board officially approved the continued operation of Anthony's Cafe. Thank you for providing the documentation that proved our neighborhood support to the commission. We now consider this matter closed and will monitor the business permit renewal process as a matter of routine.

I met with the zoning board representatives this morning to outline our position on the tavern permit. They requested a formal summary of these signatures to include in the official record for the upcoming hearing.

I am a 3rd generation at my Fishtown owned home, in my 55th yr of being a life-long resident. There has never been nothing but an "Anthony's Bar" at this location.... Somebody needs to check the tax records & or perhaps even the issuing of the "Liquor license"????

I remember Anthony's bar from when in the 50's I used to go to my girlfriends house on Oxford St. I remember the woman who owned it because she would always be sweeping the sidewalks outside with her broom.

fistown is made up of generations of families who care about our neighborhood. Because developers have found value should not mean driving out businesses and people who have loyalty & history to what we have valued long before fishtown became a commodity.

This is one of the oldest family owned bars in Fishtown, maybe the oldest. Open In 1946 by a first generation Polish immigrant, Mary Zysk.

Anthony's cafe has been a staple of the fishtown community for as long as I can remember. Anthony's cafe has always been a respectable, reputable establishment and has never been considered a nuisance bar. The fishtown community would loose a part of its history if it were to close.

My family went here all the time .. It was a place they called "CHEERS" - a place where everyone knows your name & family .. It needs to stay that way .. Its one of the original places left to go ..

THIS TAVERN DOES A LOT TO IMPROVE AND HELP THE NEIGHBORHOOD. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BAR.
