On November 9, 2006 a 13 year old boy was hit by a truck in front of Bon View Elementary on Philadelphia and Bon View in Ontario, CA. Angel Ortiz was in the crosswalk when an F-250 went through the stop sign. A neighbor who was there comforted Angel with prayer until paramedics came. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The family of Angel Ortiz is petitioning for a signal light at the corner where the accident took place. A four way stop is already there. This could have easily been prevented if drivers would take a stop sign more seriously. We need the signal light to protect our children before, during and after school.
