The school board has officially committed to the renovations we advocated for throughout this process. I am grateful for the collective persistence that brought this outcome to life. We will remain observant as the repairs begin to ensure the facility meets the standard our students deserve.

As a parent of Amador High School, I call upon the Pleasanton School board and Superintendent Haglund to immediately address the needs of Amador’s gym. The Dilapidated state of our gym is inexcusable, and has been like this for far too long. We support the necessary and immediate action to allocate funds to remedy the unacceptable condition of this facility.

Agreed. The deplorable conditions are unsafe and unacceptable. Leaky roof, crumbling exterior walls, warped basketball court, no HVAC, unusable locker & restroom facilities etc... are a disgrace to community at large. Our students deserve more!
The air circulation/ cooling during hot days/evenings in the gym is nonexistent. Uncomfortable for spectators and the players. This situation can be resolved by updating the gym with air conditioning.
Our gym has been an embarrassment for quite some time. My daughter used to play basketball for Amador and they had to stop, in the middle of a girls JV game, to duck tape part of the backboard up so the game could continue. The bathrooms are disgusting as well.
The state of the gym is demoralizing to our student athletes, and sends a message to the whole student body that our school is not worthy of care and upkeep. We can do so much better, PUSD. Please resolve to make these repairs happen by the end of 2019-20. It's beyond overdue.
This facility we call “the gym” is utilized for so much more than Athletics; PE, rallies, major school events, music and talent performances, and non-PUSD community events, just to name a few. Please allocate the funds to this important facility.
My sons went to Foothill but I support any school that need to have their gym upgraded due to wear and tear and safety issue.
Please fix the gym! All students are entitled to have proper, functioning facilities.

I have been teaching and coaching here for 26 years. Most facilities in neighboring districts have been updated and improved while ours have decayed. Our school has grown by almost 1000 students and little investment by the district. This facility is also used by the community.
