The parents and students of the Avon Local School District, in the state of Ohio and the county of Lorain, are urging the local School Board to consider providing crossing guards for major intersections on Center Rd (St RT 83), Detroit Road and Stony Ridge Road. We believe these changes will encourage more Avon students to walk or ride their bikes to school, thereby, providing more exercise in their daily routine. Additionally, less buses will be needed reducing the tax burden on the community. Finally, with the housing and school development that has and continues to occur bringing Avon out of a rural community into an urban community now is the right time to take action on this issue.
