Help stop a housing development next to a SSSI meadow in Hereford

Such beautiful and important meadow, deserves to remain so!

This area should not be built on as it is an SSSI

SSSIs should be protected not built on.

Hereford's rural-urban fringe is one of the city's great attractions. Bovis' proposal is too great an encroachment into the fringe, especially when large brownfield sites remain undeveloped, for instance the urban site of Whitecross School and the Edgar Street Grid.

This proposed development would irreversibly damage a very rare ecosystem. In addition, allowing building on or near a natural floodplain will cause the residents misery in years to come. the lung needs a natural floodplain which should not be encroached upon

I support Hereford Councils decision to reject this application, especially because of the impact it would have on the rare meadow.

Any development that affects a flood plain is irresponsible for the people who may live there and when it is a site with the highest level of environmental protection it would show a complete disregard for any environmental significance of the site.

This area needs to be preserved but more than this building on a flood plain is unacceptable - enough owners have enough difficulty getting insurance in such circumstances- why run the risks when other suitable areas to build on.

This development could destroy the only remaining Lammas meadow in the country. I am not opposed to development per se, it just needs to be in the right location.

Lugg Meadows are one of Herefords treasures & should be preserved. Biulding houses near or on flood plans is bad for the people who will occupy them & those effected as nature compensates by pushing the water elsewhere.

This development, if allowed, would damage an area that has been unchanged since Mediaval times

This is the Easiest and WORST option. We do need housing but this should be affordable and not in positions which damage rural amenities and SSSIs. Hereford City already has serious traffic problems and with this site they will opnly increase.have ser

Don't build here! Please think - not just of developers' profits

In winter, the whole area may be flooded to a depth of over 1m for long periods, and access becomes impossible or dangerous. Take care when walking near the river as there are vertical cliffs along its banks.
