Help stop a housing development next to a SSSI meadow in Hereford

Please find a brownfield site to build on, we have so few sites of SSSi in Herefordshire and once built on them they are gone forever.

Having seen the very rare fauna and flora on this site and it being one of the few strip meadows left in the country I fail to see why these homes arent being built on existing brownfield sites.

its shameful that this outstanding and beautiful area is considered for building on. especially so close to the river liable to extreme flooding.

This development is wrong on every front. New housing needed? Use post-industrial spaces, plant up and recreate living space to make them attractivve wildlife filled areas, not just keep despoiling new greenfield sites.

I strongly support the Council's refusal on all site-specific grounds and on strategic planning grounds for the county and city. The Council has consulted exhaustively on its Core Strategy. This strategy rightly has no urban extension at Aylestone. It will be a total travesty and negation of the democratic process of forward planning if DCLG supports the developer here, regardless of the consensus achieved through the Core Strategy process. Frankly, we've all been wasting our time if this site is developed in any form. Bovis should be ashamed of themselves. The company should focus on getting behind the earmarked development sites for Hereford in the Core Strategy. If the appeal is rejected as it must, Bovis should sell or gift the site to the Parish Council/ Herefordshire Wildlife Trust.

Outrageous to develop land near this SSSI. The by-pass was rejected because of floodwater & mist. I dread to think what problems home owners would face if this goes ahead. Let alone the blot on the landscape it would cause!

This is a ridiculous idea, aside from the likely disruption of an SSSI, the Lugg floods seasonally. Even if they have a plan to prevent floods from the proposed new development, the flood waters will cause chaos elsewhere.
