yes finally some one is as much concerned about fast speeding cars on Allum street as i have been. i have lived on this street over 30years and over time this street is getting worse in speeding drivers the tree in front of my house was brocken in half some years ago by a speeding car and i have witnessed many incidents over the years. sleeping at night always get woken up by speeding cars, thats when its used as a speedway, as its a long and wide street. i dont know how the council has overlooked this street by not installing speed bumps.

Pls make it become true, so many speeding in this small and quiet street, very dangerous when you get in Allum st from small street Coleman Ave cars park on both side blocking driver view.

Quite a number of cars travelled at high speed in the 50Km/h zone. Evident of burnt mark on the street during burnout and repeating number of time, specially in front of the address 40,42,44. Please install speed bumps to reduce cars run over speed and stop the cars do the burnout act. I do believe speed bumps will save life, they will stop cars run over speed and stop the burnout act on Allum street.

We should do this long time ago and the cross for many students in Yagoona public school. It very dangerous for students crossing the roads when they go to school in the morning & they go home.

I lived at Allum st for 8 years and It’s about time to finally install speed humps I witnessed at many occasions how cars sped at dangerous speed

Ironically I found this petition letter in my mailbox after assisting my daughter to safely reverse out of the garage on the street!

Dear Council - please assist us in protecting our families by installing these speed bumps on Allum St.

Dear council and our communities: My family and I have lived on Allum St for almost 30 years. Speed humps on this street was necessary many years ago. It is even more vital today. PLEASE make this happen. We have young children and speeding cars make it extremely unsafe to exit our driveways, enter the road, and physically cross the road (e.g. pushing a pram across this street or walking a young child hand in hand across the street). I have elderly parents who own their own home and have paid taxes and council rates for decades on this very street, and they feel unsafe crossing even just a 3m stretch of road because, clearly, speeding cars do not care about the safety of pedestrians. They need to look left and right and check and check again on this street before crossing - when the speed limit is meant to be 50km/hr, yet many cars travel over 60km/hr here. A car may be initially far away, but for an elderly person crossing Allum St, by the time they cross mid-way that car has already reached them because of high speed. The car may not hit the elderly person, but it causes fear and shock. Imagine if this was YOUR elderly mother or your elderly grandfather. Would you be worried? Prevention is better than cure! Do we need to wait til there is a fatality? Do we need to count how many accidents/injuries/near misses before speed humps are installed? We are not asking for much (at all) - just safety for the residents on this street and, consequently, the community and neighbouring streets around us. Do we seriously need 1000 requests to have us heard? Do we actually have to put a number on safety? We are talking about safety (life and death) here. Myself, my family, and my neighbours have witnessed countless car accidents on this street over the past few decades. These have been due to carelessness contributed by speeding (especially at the Allum St/Coleman Ave intersection). I do not feel safe driving on my very own home street. I have great concerns for my children
