Ok so here’s the deal people, Mr. Lundie cancelled singing valentines this year (to those who don’t know it’s a few groups who auditioned a valentines themed song and people order us to go sing to their valentine on v-day) it’s an ohs tradition. This is the ONLY day that all choir kids (who auditioned and made it) have a chance to shine. The reason for us choir kids to be mad about this (besides the obvious and sated reasons) is because we were not told until today (1/31) that we were’nt allowed to do them, after people had already worked really hard to hammer out parts/harmonies and auditioned for it.

 Lundie said that it’s cancelled because it’s an academic distraction. First, it only takes at most 2 MIN of class time. Teacher’s have also ALWAYS had the option of telling us not to come to their class (so we find a time/class that will allow us). And besides He takes time out of class for poms winning state(which is cool and all) and to pass out shirts to seniors and let basketball and football kids disrupt class to rep a game that take anywhere from 5-30 min. -Side note, for me (Katelyn) this is not only for the sake of saving singing valentines, but to make it aware to faculty that the performing arts do not receive the respect or appreciation that we deserve. I mean when was the last time the performing arts were congratulated for getting the highest scores at a competition? NEVER. So please support us!-
