I would say that a reasonable amount of chickens say 3 yo 6 in an average size backyard would be sufficient.

They should be allowed people can use the eggs to feed there family and help neighbors if they need to eat it ain’t much but something is better then nothing

I think as long as they are fenced in where other animals aren't drawn to them and used for their eggs should be allowed

I live on the edge of the city limits and have plenty of space for a handful of hens not only for eggs, but for their amazing composting ability. 2020 showed us all how fragile the commerce chain is and how important it is for us as individuals to strive for self sustainability. There is no reason to not allow residents to raise hens.

It shouldn't be illegal to grow/raise your own food. My neighbor's dog is more of a nuisance and can be heard in a 3 block radius! It's a human right to provide for your family, no one else is going to do the work for us so you'd think the Government would be proud of individuals or families who WANT to put the work and effort in, they need to focus on the gangs, violence and hate in this city. If anything I'm the friendly neighbor who'd love to give my elderly neighbor fresh eggs and produce I grow! It could bring this community closer.

I don't see why the city keeps being against this. You have many homes in rural residencial zones yet we can't have chickens but big Cities like Chicago and New York can? It just doesn't make any sense. If they listen to the residents for once many so many people wouldn't be leaving. Roscoe and Rockton allow chickens. Considering a move.

I have 3 hens and the city is making me get rid of them I got them when the pandemic started in case of emergency food supply

No reason not to be able to have a few hens in your back yard. I can see roosters just because of the crowing. But, with the cost of eggs it would be a benefit to the community!
