The Cannabis Control Commission will not allow one-day or three-day cannabis events. That means next year, the Boston Freedom Rally will not be possible. This also means infused dinners, workshops, pot & paint nights, any one-day event will not be possible.

We believe one-day and three-day social consumption event licenses should be legal. Consumers should have legal access to one day events. Events licenses also support local economy for those who cannot afford a storefront location. Low barriers to entry will allow for small businesses and entrepreneurs to benefit from the new cannabis industry. Sign this petition to support the local economy.

We are meeting with the Cannabis Control Commission next week.

Updates

December 17, 2017

The Cannabis Control Commission is dead set on keeping small entrepreneurs locked out of the market. I have been preparing for our meeting to show them exactly why these event licenses are non-negotiable for our local economy.

December 17, 2017

The momentum behind this is undeniable and the Cannabis Control Commission can no longer pretend we are just a small group of people asking for change. We are taking this massive energy directly to that meeting to force them to stop protecting the status quo and start supporting local entrepreneurs.

I believe that that decision should be left for the consumers to decide or at least if you want to try and regulate it, do it as you do with Alcohol. No need to be telling grown folks what to do when most of us know what we can and can't handle as for the few that don't, that is what we have the law/police for.

If there can be street festivals where alcohol is openly served such as events at the Sowa Market and the dozen beer festivals then we should be allowed our events. I voted recreational marijuana in because the bill promised to “tax and refulate cannabis as alcohol” and frankly this is not doing that.

We have had the Boston Freedoom Rally for years and years, peacefully. It makes no sense to take it away now that cannabis is legal for recreational use in Massachusetts.

I now fear that parents and residence of landlords non-compliant to the useof cannabis in their apartments will now have no place or other options for their medical use.

Events such as the Freedom Rally are part of the positive reasons why Cannabis won state legalization in 2016. They are part of the reasons you are able to work in a position that represents the future of the American people, as well as the entire globe. Preventing one of the most popular events, which helped lead you to have this position, from having a gathering negatively affects the economy of Massachusetts, as well as the community at large. Please think deeply about this before making a mistake.

Please allow 1 and 3 day event liscences. You are severely limiting new business abilities. Please look at all legal states models. They are able to hold these events without incident. Massachusetts should bring itself to the same standards.
