As the parent of current kindergarten student at Carlisle Elementary it has been brought to my attention that parents are not allowed to attend the graduation ceremony for Kindergartners this year “due to Covid restrictions.” This is getting out of hand folks. How long are we going to accept these restrictions? Our children deserve to have their families there for their big moment. After all of the changes they’ve had to endure their first official year of school they should at least be able to see us physically there supporting their accomplishments. If our school allows us to pack the High School gym for a wrestling match this past winter and almost fill the auditorium for the play Anastasia then why not allow 2 persons per Kindergarten student to attend their graduation? There is more than enough room in the new auditorium to be able to “socially distance” and be present for the small ceremony. Please consider signing this petition to show your support for the kindergarten students and their parents/guardians.
I have been hearing from so many of you who are just as confused and frustrated by this double standard as I am. Please know that I am currently drafting a formal request to the school board to demand they explain why sporting events are open while our children's milestones remain restricted.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only parent frustrated by these inconsistent rules. My child deserves to have me in that auditorium to celebrate their first school milestone and I am grateful so many of you feel the same way.

This is ridiculous. They can pack the gym for sports but god forbid parents watch their kid walk across a stage for 5 mins. Enough already.

My son worked so hard this year. He deserves to have us there watching him. The double standard is just getting old.

Not only should we allow this, this should have been a no brainer ..
And when will we stand up and had enough of masks as well, many school districts are starting to fight back and say enough is enough ! It’s time !

Is you can have spectators at wrestling matches, you can have parents come to kindergarten graduation!

I think that kindergarten graduation should go on. They are allowing sports and field trips. So there should be a graduation.

I agree 100%. No more masks no more restrictions. The healthy, well being and happiness of children should not be dictated by a Governor who was elected to represent us not rule us.

It is imperative we have families support our children.
