I just walked past the front desk and they confirmed it because the absolute madness of the no food policy is officially over and we can finally eat our granola bars in peace again. I am so relieved that I can actually study for more than an hour without my …

Hillman library, as many of you students know, has now adopted a "no hot food" policy, BUT NOW IT IS A NO FOOD AT ALL POLICY. If you are fuming at this, please sign. Sign this position to show Hillman library that this policy is not only unsafe medically, but also a ridiculous rule. According to a reliable source, this is because people are not fond of certain food smells. They've taken this too far. LET'S SHOW THEM THAT THIS IS NOT OKAY. Please share to your friends!

I honestly never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and it makes me want to scream at the library front desk even more. It is just so wild that people actually care this much about being able to eat a granola bar while staring at a textbook at midnight.

If you study for an extended period of time, you need to be able to eat in Hillman to provide your brain with the nutrients needed to keep studying!

This is ridiculous. Hillman's coffee cart sells food. Students should be allowed to eat while in the library because it is necessary and sometimes we run low on time during the day and because, at night, it is dangerous to make students leave the safety of the library to find somewhere else to eat.

But really. This is discriminatory against commuting students who don't have access to the ridiculously priced meal plans at Pitt, and who don't have money for $10 Panera.

This is unreasonable. Some people pull all-nighters on the regular during finals week, and others study through their meals. This is not only an unreasonable rule, but one that has been implemented during the worst possible time frame for the well-being of the student population.

It is not only unfair that we can no longer bring food in but it is also hypocritical of them to ban food when they have a cafe that sells food and drink

I've spent eight hours straight in the library. How can you require me to go someplace else just to eat? It would be reasonable to designate certain areas for food, but banning it is unethical quite honestly.

What an inconvenient and unnecessary rule. At least the ground floor should permit food. Many people don't have the time or money to leave to eat while studying.
