Let them play! It is disheartening to watch a Cross Country meet where other schools in our conference are able to race together but yet our athletes cannot. The social and emotional toll this is taking on athletes is REAL and is a detriment to their well being. Our athletes are being robbed of scholarships and opportunities to play in college. We have coaches that are ready and willing to make this happen in a safe way. Our district has the resources to make this happen!

It should be the family and students choice to participate, not the district making the decision for them.

let my grandchildren play
Enough is enough.
They played travel sports all summer and all has been ok. No kids, parents or coaches got sick. They played june - now.
Let them play. Stop making choices for parents and athletes

If an athlete was diagnosed with covid at the district, parents and players should have been notified. We were not notified, therefore your statement is based on assumption. The athletic department did an amazing job over the summer providing a safe environment by following and enforcing all the covid guidelines. Are kids only “at risk” while at the school playing sports? Are they not at risk anywhere else? The health department and IHSA have given approval to continue. For those that don’t feel comfortable, there is the option of staying home.

No I don’t believe that an athlete got Covid. I felt he was not at risk since they had them
Playing indoors with masks! Because the masks work right??? No one is forcing anyone to “suffer”. If you aren’t comfortable stay home! They overwhelming athletic community want to let the kids play!

This is an equity issue. Our students rely on those college scholarships.
Please reconsider this decision.

Do you all of you actually practice social distancing and wear masks. I know it may be hard for some of you to believe in.

It’s stupid to want to put yourself at risk for getting sick over sports while everyone else is going through the same thing.

What about the mental health of all the other kids? Athletes aren’t special just because they play sports. Other kids are struggling with mental health and don’t get nearly as much recognition.

Only student athletes? Or other kids too. Make all the kids matter if you’re going to saying it’s unfair

Do you play sports 6 ft apart the whole game/practice?
This is so important to them
We need kids to train
