The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) which governs High School Athletics is allowing 20 contact days for athletes (effective now) through the end of October. Most schools with in our conference and the state are allowing their athletes to participate. D219 has not explained why, when or if our athletes will be allowed to participate as well D219.
D219 athletes are being inequitably disadvantaged by not being allowed to train like athletes at other schools in our conference and many families cannot afford expensive club programs which are not subject to the same restrictions.
DEMAND the District allow our kids the same opportunities as their peers!!!

I am unsure what the motives of the district are. They didn’t even send out a letter stating why this is the case. Every other district has already started their off season sport practices. We were last to start in the summer and last to begin in the fall. These kids are already isolated from school and peers and this is the only thing left. Get it together D219!
