Absolutely agree. The administration is ridiculous for this new policy, they just refuse to lower their own wages.

Daughter is starting senior year and needs studios to complete work as she cannot use oil paint in her apartment. This is some major stinking B-S, and not the fault of the school — but SAIC needs to meet the needs of their students and cut corners elsewhere.

I am not a student but a parent. This change is an unacceptable change to what was outright promised to us during the admission process. Studio access is one of the main reasons we support our child’s move to Chicago to attend SAIC. To announce this drastic change in resources after tuition was paid for the semester is infuriating and dishonest. This will put students at risk and affect our students success at this school.

STUDENTS rely on having busy lives to make it through college. Therefore some students risk exhaustion due to the fact that the only time they have to create their assignments or.personal projects may be super late or overnight. Being closed will not only force some to fail due to lack of time but force exhaustion and exceed stress levels healthy for a person due to everything they have to do to make it through college work for tuition and still afford food in this economy.

This is unfair to the students that go here. The latest class gets out at 9:30, so that leaves no time to get any work done. Especially for the Buckingham residents, ceramics, fibers, animation. For the amount of money we pay to do art here, and the main draw to SAIC being the facilities, we should have access to them.
An increase in price, and less facility use...nice

This is ridiculous when i was a student overnight studio access was an essential part of making, to strip that away among other things is detrimental to the school itself this is a shortsighted decision. Rethink it
