Pump tracks for cycling, skateboarding, skates and scooters are a great deal of fun, providing an environment where all can enjoy themselves together.

They are a great place to exercise but also to learn cycling skills to make safe cyclists for the road and off road.

Pump tracks are accessible for users of all ages- parents and children can participate together and have great fun using them.

I want us to build an international level pump track that is free for all to use in Halden sentrum.

I have spoken to the NCF (Norwegian cycling federation) who have offered good guidance and enthusiasm and back our bid 100%, Velosolutions, who have given a great vision of what is required and how to achieve the goal and pump track venues and suppliers across Europe who have given me an idea of costs, maintenance and types and amount of users.

All we need now is a place to build a pump track and finances, so with all of the signatures you lovely people will give us, we can approach Halden Kommune and various businesses and charities to try and secure money and land to build a free access pump track for all to use in central Halden.

The UCI (cycling's world governing body) have recognised pump track as a unique cycling discipline and now run a World Championship event and qualifying races.
I feel certain that within a couple of cycles this will be an Olympic discipline.
