Redistricting Option D4 was presented for review after the School Board meeting on 02/14/2020. This new option singles out our neighborhoods. It also effects students in the Springfield Corridor (Woodberry, Lexington, Green Springs, Old Springfield, Milbrooke, The Village at Innsbrook, The Meadows & The Woods at Innsbrook). The kids in this area would not be joining their classmates from Holman Middle School at Glen Allen High School (or Deep Run), but instead be sent to Tucker High School (off of Parham Rd.). Under Option D4, 17% of kids from Holman would be sent to Tucker, decreased from the current rate of 23%. From appearances, our neighborhoods have been carved out of Glen Allen and placed into Tucker in an effort to appease other, more vocal area of the County. OUR KIDS MATTER TOO!

Option D4 breaks the feeder pattern and takes away a linear path for our children.

Research shows that transitioning to high school with fewer of one's middle school peers weakens the link between 8th grade and 9th grade performance.

Higher achieving students performed better when they attended the same high school as most of their middle school classmates.

D4 fails to achieve the goals of reducing capacity at schools. Godwin High School will be at 99% under this option, thereby increasing the chances of rezoning again in the near future.

The School Board thought they could quietly dismantle our neighborhoods without us noticing. This surge of support proves they were dead wrong and we are not going to sit back while they play games with our children's education.

I am opposed to D-4 and support E-4. The home I bought in the Meadows is close to the current elementary, middle and high schools (primarily Deep Run or Glen Allen) and is why I moved here. On any re-sale I want to be able to list these same schools to future homeowners.

I am against option D-4. This breaks away from the feeder schools to Glen Allen HS and Deep Run. Our community/neighborhoods have once too many times been affected due to senseless re-zonings in the past and I strongly oppose this option.

It really makes no sense to send high schoolers who are just learning to drive to a school further away when 2 other high schools are several miles closer. Why have them driving over Broad when they have two options with no need to travel over a 4 to 6 lane thoroughfare. I had 3 daughters graduate from Tucker and 2 had accidents commuting to school

Against D4. It does not meet any of the redistricting committee's stated goals. It also appears to put greater burden on one of the most diverse student populations. This can not be the committee's intent.

The transition itself to high school is difficult.Leaving some friends behind from their community after their freshman year will make it even harder. Please help us to keep them together.

Please keep our Lexington & surrounding neighborhoods going to Glen Allen HS. It is not fair to disrupt our kids built relationships with students/friends and be thrown into a non-feeder pattern. Do the right thing!! Our voices need to be heard too!

We don't want our kids commute that far from home; we consider it less safe then commuting to near by schools. Respectfully, resident of The Meadows in Glen Allen

We purchased our home so our daughter would be in the Glen Allen High School district.
