It is time to do what is right and restructure the deal we made with all of these foreign oil companies namely BP we gave them the sweetest tax deal ever and now we are reaping what we sewed. You were warned by many Alaskans that this was a bad deal and that when the prices of oil would dip down we would be the ones shouldering the responsibility of this tax break. So rather than having the guts to stand up to big oil you decided to cut $58 million from education. After all an educated citizenry is not what is in the best interest of your job security. Do not tell me to tighten my belt when my tax money pays to ensure that your electric bill is on and your rent is paid and your stipends are taken care of while you're here in my hometown of Juneau and yet the homeless right here in Juneau is extremely high and the rent is be on what any one person much less a single-family home can't afford to pay for and keep their lights on and food on the table. Might I suggest all of you who are paid for by our tax money to represent our interests tighten your belts and take a pay cut that is the minimum wage of the state and you pay your mortgage your electricity your tax bill your food bill your children's education their school clothes on the same budget we have to until this crisis is over. Live within our means not your means. I will no longer support your lifestyle when you're not doing your job. If I were to work For my employer the way you're working for the Alaskan people I would've been fired by now. And believe it or not this election cycle your jobs are on the line whether you want to believe it or not. Get progressive and get clean renewable energy going in this state and start opening up the market to the growth of small businesses but most importantly start getting the money for the oil companies if they're taking out of the state. They are getting trillions of dollars out of our state they employ people from out of state that then vote on our issues but

My hubby is already laid off due to capital cuts. The people of the state will be in dire straits in two years if they don't pass a sustainable plan. PLEASE, pass a budget! Sales tax, spreads things more evenly (can't afford a little tax, then don't buy it) and the pfd restructure. Things are already getting bad and soon we will have a poverty level of 50% or more! This is serious but the legislators are disconnected from understanding the people's needs. They are being self-serving and not performing their fiduciary duties.

Politicians got us into this mess by thinking and spending like oil would stay high forever. Anyone knows the value of oil fluctuates greatly. I want a government that can sustain itself on oil at $45 a barrel. not $90 like the current budget.

Such a let down after a surge of surprise, excitement and hope! We need our legislators to do their jobs. Come up with a comprehensive fiscal plan so that my family can enjoy enjoy Alaska long past your re-election year.

institute income tax before reducing permanent fund dividend. Everybody pays their fair share with an income tax. Do not cut education programs from pre-school through doctorate and post doctorate. Do not cut University of Alaska research programs, especially scientific research.Do not cut heating assistance or any programs for poor people that hurt innocent children and can sometimes equal freezing or starving to death. Cant believe you so quickly cut heating assistance in this state.

You cut the heating assistance for poor people? Why don't you balance the budget? Cut nonessential services, cut contracts, close offices. Consolidate and privatize.

I am soooooo tired of the stalling. Take my PFD! I still want there to be an Alaska in 3 years. We cannot keep cutting until there is no Governement left! Alaska needs a new revenue source. GeoThermal maybe, gas and oil will not keep us going. Please do SOMETHING!
