You know the story...
Alaska's legislature is in session. Again. And yet, they can't seem to do much of anything about our fiscal problems.
Inaction means higher taxes in the future, painful cuts to government services and saying goodbye to the PFD.
It's time for legislators to look beyond the November elections and do what's best of Alaska's long-term future.
Please sign this petition if you support a comprehensive fiscal plan that balances spending over the next two years through a combination of budget cuts, sustainable use of Permanent Fund earnings and modest tax increases.
Politicians got us into this mess by thinking and spending like oil would stay high forever. Anyone knows the value of oil fluctuates greatly. I want a government that can sustain itself on oil at $45 a barrel. not $90 like the current budget.
