Off-airport parking companies serving PHX Sky Harbor International Airport provide a valuable service to travelers living in the Phoenix metropolitan area and state of Arizona. Collectively, these companies provide over 8,000 parking spaces - providing valuable assets of land, infrastructure, operations and personnel which directly and exclusively serve the parking needs of PHX Sky Harbor Airport. These companies provide an essential and necessary supplement to the on-site parking spaces at PHX Sky Harbor Airport, at no taxpayer expense. These companies aggregate vehicles coming into PHX Sky Harbor Airport and therefore reduce vehicular traffic through the airport property - a key objective of airport and city officials. Finally, these companies are in the unique position of both serving and competing with PHX Sky Harbor Airport, in that PHX Sky Harbor Airport promotes its own on-site parking. For these reasons, off-airport parking companies serving PHX Sky Harbor Airport are separate and distinct from all other ground transportation providers.
As airport officials are considering implementing additional fees for ground transportation providers, we the undersigned SUPPORT a FAIR fee for off-airport parking companies. A FAIR fee being a fee that reimburses PHX Sky Harbor Airport for it's actual and reasonable costs associated with the proportionate share of commercial traffic represented by off-airport parking companies. We the undersigned specifically OPPOSE a fee that creates fee revenue over and above actual and reasonable costs attributable to off-airport parking companies.

I have been spending my time meeting with small business owners who are worried about how these proposed fees will impact their operations and our local economy. The feedback confirms that we need a transparent model for these charges rather than an arbitrary tax on businesses already doing the heavy lifting. I am preparing a formal response for the next board meeting to highlight these concerns directly.

As a flight attendant, I travel at least 3 days a week. I have parked at terminal 4 on occasion and have observed a TREMENDOUS amount of unused space. If the City of Phoenix would make it more affordable to park at PSH, this tax would be unnecessary.
This is an essential service to Phoenix travelers. This seems unfair to the small business owners, unreasonable for them, travelers/employees who cannot afford to pay airport prices and also want a safer option for long-term parking when on a trip.
There are enough taxes and fees levied on travelers already. Sky Harbor Airport should be able to recoup fair and reasonable **actual costs** but not turn this into a money-making proposition. I support a FAIR fee, and oppose anything more than that.
I would prefer a no fee. The reason we started parking at Spot is that the airport stopped the shuttle service to the west economy lot. The Spot parking is so convenient and service is so fast. Money, money is all Phoenix cares about, not service.
Really? The airport has limited parking and the congestion will increase 100 fold as the expense to park and ride will increase so that more people will be driving into the airport to drop off people. Not good for our security nor our environment!!!!

These fees and airport parking are becoming as terrible as airline flying has a reputation for. When you add in the high costs of on-airport property, we are running out of choices.

Please consider trip fee issues SEPARATE AND APART from any ride-share company related issues. Not doing so will have huge and devastating impacts on consumers, as well as our economy, as it will force off airport parking companies out of business.
