WHY NOT CONTACT SOME PROMOTERS WHO DO CONCERTS, RELIGIOUS CRUSADES AND OTHER INTERESTS WHO USE THESE MULTI-PURPOSE EVENT CENTERS AND EXPLAIN TO THEM WHAT OUR FUTURE PLANS ARE AND IF THERE WOULD BE AN INTEREST. if YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED IN CONTACTING THE PROMOTER WHO HAS BROUGHT FOXWORTHY, LARRY THE CABLE GUY AND OTHERS TO AMARILLO IN THE PAST I CAN HELP. IF YOU PRESENTED THE COUNCIL AND THE UN-INFORMED CITIZENS OF AMARILLO WITH THESE PERSONS OF INTEREST IT COULD HELP. YOU MIGHT ALSO CONDUCT A POLL AND ASK CITIZENS IN AMARILLO AND THE SURROUNDING AREA THAT IF THE MULTI-PURPOSE VENUE IS BUILT WHAT ATTRACTIONS WOULD THEY LIKE TO SEE BROUGHT HERE. THIS ALL-PURPOSE VENUE NEEDS TO BE SOLD AS A REGIONAL ATTRACTION, NOT JUST BAN AMARILLO ATTRACTION.

I want to see downtown made interesting so everyone will come and visit us, move here, build businesses down town, make Amarillo their home. I agree with one comment that downtown in any city is a draw for new businesses, etc.

Come on! As a true Amarillo native, I say it's time to get Amarillo out of the dark ages. Just because we are a city made up of small town people doesn't mean we have to be small town!

As a person that serves on the board of a youth sports program, we miss out on many events due to lack of hotel facilities close to the convention center to support large meetings. This has also been an issue bringing in medium size business meeting becausse of hotel facilities that can not handle the large meeting room request as well as the room requirements of such a meeting.

The completion of this project is the only way Amarillo will be able to attract new industry, new businesses, and young families. Amarillo was a vibrant city in the 1950s, and it can be again. Let's make Amarillo the true star of the Texas Panhandle; let's make it once again a place that our children want to come home to, a place where they want to start new businesses and raise families. Let's offer them those things that attracted them to other cities and away from Amarillo - Amarillo style- and ensure a bright future for our town.

My generation sees the value. We crave a downtown to be proud of, live, work, and play in. Keep it going!
