Taxpayer since 1988 and 100% for advancement with the whole project downtown!

Let's keep the downtown project moving forward.

I am president of Gideons International of Amarillo. The Gideons have signed a contract to have the 2017 Texas convention in Amarillo with the chambers of Commerce and the Civic Center. We need the downtown convention to continue to have the convention here. I can get around 200 signatures and more for support for the downtown development to continue. I can speak at the City council meeting or what ever you need me to do.

Build it!

We need to revitalize downtown Amarillo. It can sit there and stagnate or we can breath new life into it. Something needs to be done.

We need this lead Amarillo forward. Develop downtown for the growth of Amarillo!

I say out with the new and in with the old (commissioners, that is). These new guys are obviously out to impress the aginers but they sure don't impress me.

We need to see change downtown...the older crowds are use to the old ways but in order to bring more entertainment we need these buildings

It's time! If we are ever going to capture my friends and comrades in my generation and keep them working in Amarillo, we must move in the direction our generation wants to settle down and make a life in. We've got to assure the baby boomers that somebody will be around to take care of them and keep their city alive!

I have taken all the available Citizens' academies, including Amarillo 101, and have just a portion of the information for all city departments. My viewing and participation in City Council meetings, meetings with those who are positive in our City's growth and as a member of the Amarillo Traffic Council, feel I've researched Downtown Amarillo well. This project , in my opinion, will help, not only ALL of our City, but the surrounding ones as well. Our City is thrifty and the beauty of this plan, is utilizing Motel/ Hotel tax and outside investors who have a POSITIVE view of our City. It is my prayer that we convey a POSITIVE image of a growing Community who keeps its word. Also, settling this efficiently. I can only imagine what travelers (guests) to our area are thinking of us, right now, with all the negative PR in the media. Thank you, Advance Amarillo, for stepping forward! yes I support the downtown redevelopment

I wholeheartedly support the development of downtown Amarillo. I've lived in both Fort Worth and Colorado Springs which have gone forth with similar plans and they DO work. Am so appalled at the new members of our City Council and their actions.. Especially against the City Manager who has been doing such a fine job for our city. Am sure Jim Simms is looking down from heaven in dismay at the behavior of his replacement. Paula Camp

I support redeveloping downtown as,we need more projects.

Please don't go backwards now. Our downtown is well on its way to becoming a truly exciting place to be. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean you should be against it.

The "heart beat" of a city comes from their downtown center. The only way we are going to attract younger professionals is to offer something for them. Without the younger people wanting to move to Amarillo or continue to live in Amarillo, the "heart beat" will slow to a very sad pace. Those of us left will have to pay a lot more taxes.
