I own both residential and commercial property in Downtown Amarillo. I operate a business in Downtown Amarillo. I am fully committed to seeing Downtown Amarillo revitalize and grow. Please do not let naysaying CAVE people ruin all if the admirable progress we have made. I am someone and I support the MPEV. Build it!

This is my 20th year as a residential real estate agent in Amarillo. Local employers have a hard time recruiting young talent to move here. For example, 2 weeks ago I picked up an Ohio recruit's wife at airport. She is a sharp mid-50's woman and my role was to sell the city and show neighborhoods. As we drove along I-40, she asked me to tell her about the downtown area because "I can tell a lot about a city by it's downtown." (Wish I would've kept track of how many times recruits have asked that question or asked me to drive them downtown . . . Especially age 40's or less.). I told her of the revitalization efforts but that there was resistance. She was perplexed . . . Has lived in many states/cities where this is how the economy got a kickstart. She and her husband ate downtown 2 nights in a row. I have 2 children in their 30's who like to go downtown to eat with their spouses. To me this revitalization is not a choice, it is a necessity. DISCLAIMER: I own no downtown property nor do I sell commercial real estate. I grew up here and love Amarillo but naysayers are selling us short of the city's full potential.

I grew up in the city of Amarillo and live in one of the fastest, growing cities in Texas--Frisco. If Frisco can do it, Amarillo can! It saddens me to come home periodically and see a town that has not changed since graduating from high school (almost 20+ years).

Yes we do need this to come to Amarillo we work hard and it would be nice to go to a ball game and walk over to downtown afterwards and continue visiting with friends or family, When I was younger and lived in Lubbock it was Amarillo that had band groups in town now I live in Amarillo and Lubbock has the concerts going on. Downtown Amarillo needs to focused on the future and what is needed for the working families and for are young generation

This is an incredibly important series of projects for Amarillo. Our City will not be up to par with other competing Cities without this development and our potential to draw significant new revenue into our local economy will be lost. Our City has spend a tremendous amount of time over the past few years studying this opportunity - we need to trust the efforts of those who have brought this opportunity to and vetted it for our City. This will be a major setback if it falls through at this late date - ignorance of the facts will be no excuse.
I hope we keep downtown moving forward.
